Though it is not our usual real-world application, we always have time for some fun math puzzles!

In this updated activity, students will explore the puzzle of magic squares. Younger students can solve the puzzles in the starter, while middle schoolers dive into the general rule behind them in the main activity. They’ll discover the magic sum, and even create their own magic squares.
